Frequently Asked Questions

Q.

How can I get No Parking Web Comic art or drawings?

A.

I do commissions for original art work (look HERE for more informations).

I do not sell or give out the strips, but I do recreations of them for commissions.

Q.

Why is it called No Parking Web Comic?

A.

I needed a name and I picked one from a list of names I wrote down while brainstorming, not to use as the official name but as a place holder until I came up with a brilliant name. I never came up with a brillant name, so I used the place holder name.

Q.

Why is Barney Duck an Anarchist?

A.

I created Barney Duck when I was about twelve or so, as sort of a comic alter ego for myself. If I was going through something I couldn't talk about, he went through it too. Back in high school I was starting to become aware of politics and I use Barney as a way to give voice to my thoughts on politics. As it is in the hyper realities of comics, he became a bit more rebelous than I ever was.

When I decided to use him for No Parking I decided to keep that rebelous edge to him. He's the prankster that shows those in high office how silly they are.

Q.

Is Barney the earliest character you created?

A.

No. James T Kaat was actually created when I was about eight or nine.

Q.

Is Pax Rabbit based on anyone?

A.

Yes, and that's all I'm going to say.

Q.

Why did you "Kill" James T Kaat?

A.

I wanted to make a statement about a silly trend in comic books recently in killing characters like Captain America and Batman. Also, I like to shake up the status quo of the strip to make things interesting.

Q.

Do you ever make convention appearances?

A.

I attend I-Con located in Long Island New York each year. I would like to go to more conventions, so if you run a convention drop me an email.

Q.

Your comic seems to lean to the left politically, is that what you really believe?

A.

I don't know what you're talking about.

Q.

Your comic seems to lean to the right politically, is that what you really believe?

A.

I don't know whay you're talking about.

Q.

No, really. What way do you lean politically?

A.

I'm here and there depending on the issues. I try not to use No Parking as a soap box to bash people over the head with my own beliefs. If someone on the right screws up, I'll take them to task. If someone on the left screws up, I'll take them to task. Plus, as long as the strip is funny it shouldn't matter where I stand politically.

Q.

I like your comic, where can I send fan mail and fan art to?

A.

no_parking@bymagic.com

Q.

I don't like your comic, where can I send hate mail and threats to?

A.

garfield@jimdavis.com

Q.

I've noticed you've taken breaks that can last months in updating No Parking Web Comic, why is that?

A.

I would love to do No Parking Web Comic full time, but I can't. I have a family and responsibilities, so I have a 9 to 5 job. Sometimes 'Real Life' gets in the way of 'Being a Comic Artist Life', and one has to take a back seat to the other for a while.

Q.

Do you make a lot of money doing a web comic?

A.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
